James Everard

Ford Fiesta Sporting Trophy

James Everard being interviewed during the Severn Valley Rally.James Everard is an engineer and director of a family run engineering business in Hull. With a love and talent for driving James is competing in this year’s Fiesta Sporting Trophy. Now James, at 22 years of age, started his driving career 16 years ago at the age of 5 with an off road kart. By the age of 8 he was burning up the race tracks.

James’s karting career flourished over the next 7 years and it was always his aim to use the experience for rally driving. He started to build his first rally car, a Peugeot 106 and competed in 12 car club events. Over the next 3 years he won several championships night road rallying. The 106 then evolved into a stage rally car. Following several top ten finishes James then built his Fiesta ST rally car, entering a one make challenge to showcase his driving talents and forward his driving career. This first year in the FST is an exciting step forward in James’s driving career and with the introduction of left foot braking and 8 different rounds on gravel or tarmac. This years championship will give James invaluable experience before a serious assault on next year’s Fiesta Sporting Trophy.

Below you will find a video. The video was made by Ant (Anthony Smith) who graduated from Teeside University and this was his first post graduate project. The brief was to show James driving career to date, showing the early karting success through to taking part in the Fiesta Sporting Trophy.

I think you will agree the project was a resounding success.
